SACAPHTA Partners with IOM to Empower Displaced Persons and Returnees in Zamfara State

February 23, 2025

The Substance Abuse Control and Prohibition of Human Trafficking Agency (SACAPHTA) has entered into a strategic partnership with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to strengthen community-based interventions aimed at empowering displaced persons, trafficking survivors, and returnees across Zamfara State. The partnership was formalised during a courtesy visit by SACAPHTA’s management team to the IOM office, where both organisations discussed collaborative approaches to rehabilitation, psychosocial support, and livelihood empowerment for victims of human trafficking and vulnerable populations. Speaking during the visit, the Executive Secretary of SACAPHTA commended IOM for its continued commitment to humanitarian response and safe migration programs. He emphasised that the collaboration would play a crucial role in promoting inclusive reintegration and sustainable livelihoods, particularly for displaced persons affected by insecurity and trafficking in the North-West region. The partnership underscores SACAPHTA’s commitment to multi-agency collaboration as a core strategy for achieving its 2025 operational mandate, strengthening prevention, protection, and empowerment frameworks for at-risk groups within Zamfara State.
